As many of you know, Lenny is a huge David Archuleta fan. Last month, Lenny even changed his travel plans and had to wake up at 2am to catch a flight home for David's homecoming at Murray High School and also David singing the National Anthem at a Jazz game.

After American Idol on Tuesday night, Lenny would replay David's performances on YouTube and also look up any new information about him. He happened to come across a video that an old family friend had filmed about David's journey on American Idol. Come to find out, this family friend happens to be the official spokesperson of the Archuleta family.
Lenny told his mom that if she made contact with this friend and set up a time to meet David that she would never have to buy him another birthday present again.
So...it happened!
Saturday afternoon, just before Abby's dance recital started (we will put pictures of that on later), this family friend called Lenny and invited us to a fireside at a troubled youth facility where he and David would be speaking.
It turned out that most of the time was spent with David answering questions from the audience. He also sang, 'Angels' and the hymn, 'Be Still My Soul.' It was absolutely amazing!
Afterwards, David stuck around and shook hands, took pictures and signed autographs for every person in attendance. It was a dream come true for Lenny!
Abby was star-struck...
...but so was Lenny.

WOW!!! How cool that they got him to come for that fireside. I didn't follow American Idol this season but of course I watched the tryouts where they make fun of everyone. I was impressed with him then. He really does have some amazing pipes!
That's cute! My Jack still talks about how he wished David Archuleta had won and not David Cook. He'd have been in heaven to have met him!
Too funny, I'm learning all these new things about Lenny. He's a huge American Idol fan (does he vote during the season too?), he loves Bon Jovi, Daughtry and David Archuleta. He actually lives over by Devin's parents new house in Murray and I've heard he's just a super nice nice kid. I'm sure he'll go far with that voice, it's pretty amazing.
Tessie- I forgot to tell you, I saw your Dad on the news the other night. Something about Holladay City. It was funny to see him.
