super snowy super bowl sunday

Sunday morning Lenny had to get up early for a 7:00 meeting. At about 6:45 AM(!) someone called to tell him they needed a ride because there was no way they were going to attempt getting up to the church with all the snow (I wouldn't have tried either). well...to make a long story a little bit shorter...they end up canceling church because the snow and roads were so bad. Anyways, Lenny still goes up to shovel the walks! He finally realized it was a pointless effort and headed home only to get his car stuck at the bottom of our street, which he finally got up the hill after a plow came through. FAST FORWARD to later that day. We had a superbowl party planned at our house. Lenny's mom and dad got here a little before the game started. It had stopped snowing and they said the drive out was fine. So of course we told everyone the party was still on. I'm not kidding... not 5 minutes after I got off the phone with everyone it started snowing again. About 20 minutes later I got a call from Brandee saying they might need some help. They were stuck at the bottom of our street! So I sent Lenny down to get them and then I started calling the rest of the family to tell them it wasn't such a good idea for them to be coming anymore. When Heather answered the phone all I heard was OH SHOOT! OH SHOOT! She was in the middle of getting stuck at the bottom of a hill by our house! So Lenny got her while he was out looking for Jared and Brandee (who in the meantime had made it up the hill on their own - I think Jared had to get new tires the next day). Thank goodness for DVR's because this was all going on after the game had started. Everyone else made it up okay in their 4 wheel drives and snow plow. I NEVER KNEW THERE WERE SUCH DIE-HARD FOOTBALL FANS IN THE FAMILY! Apparently it was an awesome game though and all the guys enjoyed it while the kids played and the women chatted. So thanks to everyone who braved those crazy hills and made it out and thanks for all the good eats.

Just hearing you talk about your family just brings back so many memories. I just love your family. I totally went to Jared and Heather's websites...didn't even recognize heather she is so grown up and gorgous(serioulsy think I last saw here and she was 8) and Jared has turned out to be such a hottie!

That was a bad storm huh (or I should say one of the bad ones this year). We have 1:00 church and they called and said we were having a combined meeting with another ward at 1:00, sacrament only and come only if you have 4x4 and if you feel comfortable. But I heard most of the wards around were cancelled. The roads weren't too bad (except for our circle) when we went at 1:00. I was glad we took the truck to our superbowl party though, CAN IT EVER STOP SNOWING??? I'm so sick of it.
